When it’s the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. On Saturday, June 9th, 23,000+ people turned out for the biggest running event in the triangle area. This race has been held every year for as long as I’ve lived in Raleigh, and this is only the 2nd or 3rd one I’ve not run (even though I did do the “sleep in for the cure” this year). Taryn was up and out early to walk the course with one of her good friends, Cathy Smith. It apparently took hours to get back to her car via the shuttle buses they were running. Later in the day, as we helped pack Mom for her move to the west coast, Taryn gave her a race t-shirt.

Hey Chris/Taryn!! Thanks again for the tribute of walking w/us and honoring me too w/your t-shirt!!! It was fun having you walk w/us. Dickey and I regret we didn’t even think about taking you home and we’d have been happy to!!! No bus next year!!
Good luck to all of you w/the upcoming move. Chris, thanks for supporting the Race with the “Sleep-In” registration!!
Love/Hugs,
Cathy
